The Southern Chronicle #2

Again, we continue to celebrate new life in the Khudumelapye community with over 15 people now making the Big LIFE decision to follow Christ!

..Invading the Village with Gods love...

Touching homes, one life at a time...

Confronting men with the true face of eternity without Christ!

Preaching eternal Hope, Ceaseless streams of Mercy and Gods great Love up-close & personal with the lovely people of Botswana!

We are amazed at how fast our night meetings are increasingly gaining popularity and the

crowds growing larger everyday in a community without much visible commitment to God and to the church. The atmosphere is getting more and more electrifyingly responsive.

The Spirit of Christ is at work among us and we rejoice in seeing lives transformed, giftings awakened and a powerful recharge of passion and energy for God and for the lost in the body of Christ here, its simply incredible!

The villagers are gradually becoming family to us with every passing shared moment though were still learning to speak their language since many cant fluently communicate in English...

As we come near to the close of our meetings and ministry engagements in this lovely village in a few nights time, we covet your sincere prayer that the lives of those coming forward to profess faith in Jesus will remain till the day of the Lord.

We stay put to the very last day of our stay in this beautiful semi-desert land of Botswana and we need your partnership in prayer that lives will continually be changed as we keep sharing our lives and ministry to the beautiful people of Botswana. Nothing excites more; nothing beats a living encounter with Jesus Christ! Thats all we seek as well before returning home later next week.

Today, I introduce you to our hosting family, the family of Dr. Guy & Eunice, founding and resident pastors of the WRC church here at Khudumelapye who have been so very hospitable to us since the day we set feet into this country. I bet, for five "K, we dont miss the tea break chapati at the office anymore! lol! Eunice has set up a little bit better a standard than Hilton's catering services for us here and boy, we are fed up!!

Dr. Guy & wify, Eunice, Coline, Obed and the little Beraach*

We are now getting ready for an explosive youth meeting at the community hall from 2 to 4pm.

Pray for the meeting this afternoon and for ministry tomorrow. We need grace for the last round!

Till the next issue of the Southern Chronicle,

This is

The Botswana Chronicle!

DumelaTsala Tsame & welcome to the first “late” edition of the Chronicle.

Botswana Banner

We took off from Nairobi 20 past 8 and touched down safely at Noon at the Gaborone international airport and were received beautifully by Taffy and Gracious, his wife; both working for Campus Crusade here in Botswana as the National team leaders in the student movement and members of the Open Baptist Church in Gabs.

Botswana Banner 2

Sorry for delay in updates. We’ve had a challenge coz I accidentally compressed my drive "C" and so my machine cant open but we’re working at having it sorted since Pastor Maish and Shiundu can’t be reached from here!lol!

Meet MelFirst, I invite us to Celebrate MEL, a UK based Zimbabwean lady in her early 40's who shared a seat with me on the plane, for making the BIG Life decision to Ask Jesus into her Life after a windy search for an entry to a safely guarded life of secret distress, anguish and pain of divorce, family rejection and painful separation from her own kids who now live with their father here in Gabs. Please find it appropriate to speak to God about her and her family as she seeks to keep her new walk with Jesus.

Our times of ministerial interaction with the people of Botswana begun on Tuesday after a 2 hour road trip with Trainings on the Christian’s Responsibility in the fulfilment of the great commission,

Ministry PixPrayer & Evangelism at the World Restoration Church in Khudumelapye, a village about 2 hours drive away from Gabs.

Taffy

We are facilitating the training sessions in partnership with Taffy ( of Campus crusade for Christ) and are having extremely great times of Prayer each morning 6 to 8am, village patrols from 10 to 1pm and Trainings from 5pm to 8 each day.

I promise to keep us posted on ground realities with pictorial stories as soon as I get my machine in shape for convenient reporting.

Otherwise am safe from hunger -though my wife aint cooking yet!!Sample Food We’re being treated to great continental catering in a village miles away from Gaborone by a Congolese couple Dr. Guy & Eunice who are serving the little community church that we've been loving and serving in the few hours of our stay.

For more to the Botswana Chronicle, read me tomorrow same time!

Modimo ogosegofatse! (God Bless you!)

Embakasi Building Project Update

Facilities Team Report

Financial status as at 23 October 2012

The facilities team is glad to present the following report regarding the ongoing project.

First and most important is to thank the living God for his grace that has enabled the works to commence. We will not tire to recognize the series of miracles that has made this possible. Notable among these are the miracles regarding city council approval and interest free loans from members. As you will see in the following report there is much to honour God for in the giving since July. Faithful givers you have been great and have indeed made HIS praise GLORIOUS!

  1. Monthly Pledges - In July 2012 the facilities team launched an initiative to raise funds through monthly pledges. These monthly pledges have increased month to month and now stand at stand at 65% of the target of Kshs 250,000/- per month. The intention of this specific initiative is to have enough funds that can cover the loan repayments that will run for 24 months starting this October 2012. The figure below represents the above in graphic form.

Graph 1

  1. Cumulative Pledges- As noted above the monthly pledges have being increasing every month. The graph below shows the cumulative monthly pledge that ought to have been received at Kshs 449,800.   As at 23 October 2012, 49.5% of the expected pledge has been honoured. The balance of Kshs 227,000/= representing 50.5% of the total cumulative pledge is outstanding.

Graph 2

  1. One off Giving- The graph below shows the status of one-off giving. Almost all the pledges that have been made in this way have been made good. A whopping 97.2% of the total pledge has been honoured. Hallelujah! It our prayer that the Lord would release even more resources to these faithful brother and sisters.

Graph 3

  1.  Overall Status- The fourth graph shows the overall status of facilities giving. Do note the awesome amount, Kshs 1.34Million, that has been raised in the least 4months. Jehovah Jireh be praised! From the figure below it may be noted that 82.2% of all pledged monies have been paid up leaving a balance of Kshs 250,001 that represents 17.8% of the Total amounts expected thorough monthly or one off pledges.

Graph 4

  1. Phase 1A– Phase 1 of the church construction involves the following stages:
    1. Phase 1A- The excavation of the church area, back fill and the foundation and all works to the ground floor slab.
    2. Phase 1B- These will be columns and walling above slab to roof level.
    3. Phase 1C- These will be roofing of the Phase 1 Portion of the church estimated to house about 300 people.

Kazi Imeanza

It is planned that the phase 1A project will be complete by end of November, 2012. The contractor is on site and WORKING. Pray for good quality work and good weather.

5.5 million Target

Our fundraising goal for phase 1A is Kshs 5.5 million. Many of you will recollect that we have been availed interest free loans by members totalling to Kshs 4.2 million.  Of the money raised since July 2012 Kshs 400,000/- is available for the works. The balance has been expended on professional fees, approvals, and preliminary works such as the relocation of the Sunday school classrooms. The Final graph shows that the balance needed to be raised to meet the 5.5 million target is Kshs 900,000/= only.

Graph 5

We are almost there!

Just as Caleb said "let us go up at once and take possession for, (with God’s help), we are well able to overcome it”. (Numbers 13:30)

Brace yourself for the coming gift Sunday on 04 November 2012. Expect great things to be done by the Almighty God through your generous giving.

Finally it is our prayer that on the first Sunday of December 2012, (02 December, 2012), we will not only have finished phase 1A but will have commenced fund raising for the works ahead.

Hallelujah! See what God has done!
